The Amethyst Curse origins
In 2014, The Amethyst Curse was written as a gift for a friend, and subsequently released as a very small scale project, with very little marketing, and I couldn't afford an editorial team. It sold approximately 100 copies worldwide and a couple of years ago I finally unpublished on every platform, so it's never to see the light of day again (thank goodness).

Now, 10+ years on, I am writing a complete overhaul, including full re-write from first person to third person, some amazing new characters whom I’ve absolutely fallen in love with, and brand new chapters, scenes, and interactions which have been super fun to write. My characters are deeper, the book is far more fleshed out, my personal style has evolved a lot, and I am completely in love with the new lease on life (pun intended?) that I’ve given TAC.
About the book
The Amethyst Curse is a vampire novel like no other. With roots in real-world science and set in Australia, politics and mystery collide as main character Alex leaves her comfortable suburban life (and dog) for an identity-shattering experience. But can she get over the immense secrets that have been kept from her by the person who turned her almost a century ago, to forge a new path?

I don’t really believe in tropes for marketing, but if that sort of thing floats your boat, here you go: legend and mythology; stranger on the doorstep; ancient beings in a modern world; artefact of power; reluctant hero; eyes only for each other; animal sidekick; breaking abuse cycles; better as friends; who dunnit.
